Malvina is a Singaporean mixed media installation and performance artist, currently based in Sydney, Australia, who has exhibited and performed internationally since 2008; TranSport (Madrid-Singapore), Night Festival Singapore, FETTERFIELD Singapore, Making Space, Body As Woman (parallel event of Singapore Biennale 2013), Singapore Art Week, Something Human FRESHLY PACKED / ALWAYS CHECK THE LABEL (London, UK), Affordable Art Fair Singapore 2015, Future of Imagination 10 International Performance Art Festival, she was invited to collaborate with music and fine art ensemble, Chicks on Speed for The Art Of Work at NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore and ArtScience Museum Singapore. She also performed in Newcastle, Australia for Crack Theatre Festival – This Is Not Art Festival, The Open Body, Sydney, Australia and Rebel Live Action 2 International Performance Art Festival in Bangkok, Thailand.
Professionally, she is a Marketing Manager at Penrith Performing & Visual Arts in Sydney, Australia where she oversees the marketing, communications and audience development initiatives and strategies for Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Penrith Regional Gallery, Home of the Lewers Bequest, Penrith Conservatorium and Q Theatre. Her previous work experience as a Marketing and Publicity ninja includes Cirque du Soleil – KOOZA Australia Tour, Singapore International Festival of Arts – Arts House Limited and TheatreWorks Singapore. Malvina has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons) in Interactive Media from Nanyang Technological University’s School of Art, Design and Media.

Valerie spent most of her career life with Universal Studios Singapore, Resorts World Sentosa as a Creative Producer. She collected a substantial portfolio from private A-lister celebrity gala concerts (Wu Bai, Wang Lee Hom) to thematic festivals, which includes producing Halloween Horror Nights. In the year 2017, “March of the Dead” parade won the IAAPA Brass Ring Award 2017 (Most Creative Halloween Haunt, Show, or Experience). She had freelance work with companies such as The Theatre Practice (BreadTalk’s 20th Anniversary Gala 2020), Lumina Live! Agency (Van Cleef & Arpels “The Art of Science & Gems” gala and press luncheon, Christian Dior Ion Orchard Boutique Relaunch Party), Refinery Media (Asian Food Channel) and TheatreWorks Singapore (Performing Arts). Sometimes, she takes on the role of a wedding planner on a personal basis. Currently, her other projects include content creation for local companies, and of course MAKE + MERRY.
In 2018, Valerie graduated with distinction from School of Art, RMIT University with a Master of Arts (Arts Management) and School of Design, Bachelor of Design (Communication Design). During her post graduate studies in Melbourne, she was one of the five selected students from the faculty as Curatorial Assistant; for RMIT Gallery’s Chaos & Order: 120 years of collecting at RMIT – in celebration for the institution’s 120 years. She is also the co-founder of RMIT Curatorial Collective, a platform for contemporary art, cultural exchange and dialogue. The collective remains active and has participated in Melbourne White Night and was featured in Melbourne Fringe Festival.
